This unique copper cuff bracelet is made an air chasing technique.
The process of this technique begins with annealing (heating) a copper tube in order to soften it. After hammering the ends and clamping the tube to a table, I then use a dabbing punch set to create the craters and valleys in the metal. This processes work hardens the metal, and I will anneal it a number of times in order to soften the metal enough to continue shaping it. Once I've shaped the metal to my liking, I will round out the and smoothen the edges, anneal the metal one more time, then shape it using a bracelet mandrill. I then apply the patina using liver of sulfur, and use a rough polish to remove the patina off the raised parts to create greater contrast between the rifts and valleys. After polishing the metal, I apply protective wax to reduce tarnishing.
All of my jewelry can be made to order. If you would like any alternative materials or colors, please contact me and I will be happy to make it for you!
